Hi, I’m Stacy and am a true lover of food and wine. I have a WSET Level 3 wine certification and a Masters degree in Nutrition Therapy. I was working as a sommelier until COVID-19 hit and shut down my restaurant. After the shut down happened, it became clear that now was the time to work on an idea that I have had for a long time-Vinofifteen. Like the French, I have tried to make wine a ritual in my everyday life and like the French, find bottles that were tasty and inexpensive.
With so many options to choose from, value wine can be hit or miss on quality. However, when you find a good one, you want to share it with people and include it in your life. In the U.S., wine is perceived as a scary proposition. Whether buying a bottle from a store or ordering a bottle at a restaurant, people become freaked out. The self talk starts-Am I picking a good one? I don’t know if I am or not-I don’t know anything about wine. What if I pick a bad one? I don’t want to do that, that would be a waste. Now you’re paralyzed and can’t make a decision so, you leave with a case of beer. My goal is to make you feel more comfortable and confident about making your choices.
My ultimate desire is to bring more wine into people’s lives. The French drink wine with their main meal every day. They see it as an integral ingredient that enhances what they are eating and helps bring people together. Bringing that kind of enjoyment into our lives is something everyone needs, especially now, and wine is a small way to do it. It goes as well with a hotdog or popcorn as it does with a steak dinner. Whether you are having a dinner party or want something to drink with your chocolate chip cookie, I will give you suggestions and recommendations on what wines to buy and what foods to drink them with. I encourage you to explore, open a bottle, and take daily pleasure in this simple act.
